Vladimir Aruryunov of V&V Transportation reached out to me expressing interest in a car I was selling on Cargurus. At the time it appeared to be an individual interested in my car. We made arrangements for him to come to see the car and he stated he could get cashiers to check from PNC bank. Red flags started going up immediately that this could be a scam. I asked him to send me his full name and set up a meeting time for 4 pm. At 4 pm instead of Vladimir showing up someone else was sent to purchase the car and tried to get a copy of the title. according to numerous car-buying consumer scam sites. These are two of the most common indicators of a car buying scam. There was no attempt to inspect the car just a rush to get to the bank but it was too late cause the bank closed at 5 pm. The other person suggests we do it tomorrow at PNC bank and I said ok since I had a PNC bank account. After he left all of a sudden I get a text from Vladimir wanting to change the bank for the transaction from PNC to Bank of America. I asked why the change he said his account was with BOA and the other person's account was with PNC. So I said ok, I have an account with BOA also so we can transfer funds, sign the bill of sale, and once funds are transferred and verified. I would then get a certified check for the pay-off amount in and together we go to my lien holding bank to pay-off the loan and the bank had already agreed to do a lien release immediately vice having them wait for 10 days. The morning of the transaction Vladimir sent me a text with an image showing the funds for the purchase still pending transfer from BOA. So we could not complete the purchase. So we moved the purchase to the next day but realizing I was on to him the next day he didn't want to carry out the process as agreed upon. Vladimir of V&V Transportation hit 4 of 5 characteristics of an auto buying scammer which is common in title states like Maryland. Watch out if you do business with V&V Transportation.
